Houseman's CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT process begins with our involvement with the client and architect during the design process. We address issues of constructability and value engineering, while providing cost estimates to ensure the project is staying within budget requirements. Our involvement continues until our client is comfortably in his facility. Below is a summary of the activities we typically perform on a construction management project:

  • Provide assistance during the design process on issues relating to budget, schedule, and constructability.
  • Perform value engineering.
  • Solicit bids from pre-qualified trade contractors.
  • Present a not-to-exceed price to the owner.
  • Hold an Owner Pre-Construction meeting with the owner and architect to establish project expectations.
  • Hold a Contractor Pre-Construction meeting with the owner, architect, and subcontractors to review our expectations and procedures for the project.
  • Manage the construction process to ensure the goals and expectations of the owner are met.
  • Coordinate all inspections.
  • Conduct weekly progress meetings.
  • As the project nears completion, conduct preliminary punch list walkthroughs and implement repairs.
  • Collect, review and log all shop drawings and product submittals.
  • Close out the project to the client's satisfaction.
